US Tourist Arrested in Tel Aviv Over Security Site Incident and Threats

A US tourist was arrested in Tel Aviv on Sunday evening after arriving at a security site and arousing suspicion. During the incident, he allegedly stated his intention to carry out a terrorist attack.
Police officers from the Lev Tel Aviv station in the Yarkon region arrived at the scene, arrested the tourist, and transferred him for questioning. Investigators noted that the suspect struggled to answer questions coherently, raising concerns about his mental state.
Following the assessment, authorities decided to send him to the Abarbanel Mental Health Center for psychiatric evaluation on Monday morning. Police are coordinating with relevant authorities regarding his continued treatment and potential deportation.
Law enforcement is expected to bring the suspect before a court on Monday to request an extension of his detention, pending the results of the psychiatric evaluation and ongoing investigation.
