United Airlines Introduces Personal Spotify Streaming on Seatback Screens
United Airlines has become the first airline globally to let passengers connect to personal Spotify accounts via seatback screens, utilizing Starlink satellite internet for seamless in-flight streaming.

United Airlines has become the world's first airline to allow passengers to connect to their personal Spotify accounts directly from seatback screens during flights. The new feature delivers a personalized and continuous streaming experience by letting users access their entire library of over 100 million songs, podcasts, audiobooks, and videos.
Connection is established securely and seamlessly through a QR code scan from the seatback screen to the passenger's mobile device. Users can pick up right where they left off before boarding, while their smartphone functions as a remote control for browsing and searching content without needing to touch the screen. The account automatically logs out at the end of the flight, though manual disconnection is available at any time.
Powered by Starlink's high-speed satellite internet infrastructure, the integration builds upon a partnership that began in June 2025. United currently operates approximately 181,000 seatback screens across 85% of its mainline fleet, with plans to expand past 219,000 screens as fleet-wide upgrades continue alongside El Al's upcoming implementation planned for 2027.
