American airline United Airlines is set to resume flights to Israel on September 8, operating an expanded schedule of two daily flights on the Newark-Tel Aviv route. This return is expected to significantly boost competition on popular US routes, joining a broader trend of international and Israeli airlines expanding their operations at Ben Gurion Airport as the summer season concludes and the Tishrei holidays approach.

United Airlines: Two Daily Flights to the USA

The first United Airlines flight will depart from Newark to Ben Gurion Airport on September 8, with the first return flight from Tel Aviv scheduled for September 9. The company will operate two daily flights, a move expected to increase seat availability and enhance competition.

KLM: Returning August 25 with a Stop in Larnaca

Dutch airline KLM will resume operations on the Tel Aviv–Amsterdam route on August 25. The company notes that its flight network is continuously adjusted based on commercial and operational requirements. Flights will include a technical stopover in Larnaca, Cyprus, where the flight crew will stay overnight. Tickets are currently available for booking.

Israir: Initial Approval for New York Flights

Alongside foreign carriers, Israeli airlines are also expanding: Israir has received approval from the Civil Aviation Authority to operate flights to the USA. The company is expected to submit an official request to the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) during August, with the goal of launching service to New York.

Lufthansa Group: Up to 67 Weekly Flights

Lufthansa Group also reports a significant expansion of its operations in Israel. By September and the upcoming holiday period, the group's flight traffic at Ben Gurion Airport is expected to reach up to 67 weekly flights.
