Fired Channel 13 anchor in a massive lawsuit: "They operate using mafia methods"
Natali Shem-Tov is opening a stormy front against Channel 13 in the shadow of the major lawsuit she filed, accusing them of a severe boycott she underwent following her refusal to join the committee's struggle and against the backdrop of her political positions.
Natali Shem-Tov, a former Channel 13 news anchor who was fired from her position following a publicized dispute and a hearing process, is currently managing a major lawsuit she filed against her former workplace. Yesterday (Saturday), she uploaded a series of posts to her Twitter account in which she revealed surprising details about the hearing that will take place today and about the "slander" that, according to her, Channel 13 is spreading against her.
In the series of posts she uploaded, Shem-Tov first explained: "Tomorrow there is a court hearing as part of my lawsuit against Channel 13. It is not a very pleasant situation, and it also causes Channel 13 to spread slander again."
Shem-Tov continued: "Their strategy is to paint me as problematic, for example by saying that I ran a 'recording factory' of everyone I worked with, when the truth is that there are 12 recordings in this file from two whole years, the vast majority of them of the CEO, when I already understood that she was trying to get rid of me for non-professional reasons."
Shem-Tov claimed: "Honestly, I wish I had more. Persecution on a political background is something that happens so much in the dark that even when it is recorded or written, it is almost never explicit. They always had an excuse for why something was not suitable, heaven forbid not because it aligns with the logic of the Right. They didn't like the column about Yair Lapid, not that I called to open a front in the North, that I insisted that Benjamin Netanyahu does not want to kill the hostages, that I refused to say that Naftali Bennett is God."
Shem-Tov added: "When the committee fought against the appointment of Julia Shamalov-Berkovich because they decided that 'she is a Bibist' and I refused to join, everything became much uglier and scarier. The company's VP of Content testified before the court on his own initiative that I was boycotted because of this decision. Another VP agreed with me that they operate using mafia methods."
She also said: "Later, the committee brought a puppet CEO to the company, Tali Ben-Ovadia, who came to implement everything they planned. She tried to sabotage my work as much as she could, not inviting me to meetings, not giving me resources, making sure to speak to me unkindly and reprimand me frequently. Any right-wing person I wanted to bring was not good enough."
"When I agreed to host the Torch Lighting Ceremony against her will, the connection was finally severed. With the start of Operation Iron Swords, she took advantage of the situation to keep me out of the broadcast until the situation returned to normal. I fought for my place and she fired me."
Shem-Tov admitted: "There is something very difficult about feeling that you are marked. Feeling that no matter what you do, how much you invest and insist on remaining objective, they will look for a way to hurt you, weaken you and get you out of the system, just because you think differently. It is a very lonely feeling against a system that is skilled in its field."
In conclusion, she explained: "The truth is that I would have been happy to avoid the whole situation, but I am also happy that I stood my ground, that I demanded what I am owed, that I refused political dictates and all the attempts to belittle me. There were moments when it would have been much easier to just lower my head. But I knew that if I did that, I would lose the truth above all. I believe with all my heart that things are destined to be revealed and that justice will come to light. Thank you for all the support and messages."
