Sivan Sisay-Yosef, a news presenter at i24NEWS, celebrated a joyous milestone earlier this month as she and her husband, Nathaniel Yosef, welcomed their first child into the world.

In an emotional Instagram post, she announced the birth and revealed the name chosen for their daughter:

"Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good, for His mercy endures forever" (02.08.2026). Welcome to the world, our Reut. Thank you for choosing us to be your parents," she wrote, sharing a heartwarming photo of the newborn holding her mother's hands.

Two weeks after the birth, she shared a video summarizing the experience. Reflecting on the common question about her "birth plan," she admitted the uncertainty of the process:

"I was asked that so many times over the last nine months, and every time I wondered: how can one plan something I have never gone through? Every birth is different, every woman and every baby are different. I just answered in my heart: hoping for the best and ready for the worst. The 12 hours in the delivery room went completely differently than I imagined, but in the end, we received the greatest gift we could have asked for."

She also spoke about the significance of the baby's name:

"Reuti, or as my mother-in-law named her in Amharic — Baychish ('She saw you'). I am sure my late mother sees the perfect granddaughter born to her. Just as she protected me all these years, she is now protecting you from above, along with other angels who will accompany you every step of the way."

Describing their current life of feedings and sleepless nights, she added: "Every day we look at our creation and wonder anew that she is here and she is ours. Welcome to the world, Reuti. Thank you for lighting up rooms in my heart and opening new ones I didn't know existed. I was born again with you."
