Mocking October 7 with a shirt sparks online storm: "Deport him!"
A photo published by the Dutch organization CIDI has sparked public outrage. The image shows a man in a supermarket wearing a shirt with "October 7" written on the back. Party for Freedom leader Geert Wilders has demanded an immediate government response and the deportation of the individual.
A photo published online has sparked a storm of outrage and received a sharp response from the leader of the Party for Freedom, Geert Wilders. The image, recently released by the Dutch organization CIDI, shows a man wearing a "soccer" shirt on the back of which, instead of a player's name and number, is cynically written "October 7". The individual was documented walking through a local supermarket. The photo spread quickly on social networks, sparking anger among users.
Wilders condemned the incident on his X account:
"In a supermarket in Amsterdam, Muslims don't even hide their support for the October 7 massacre. These people should be arrested immediately and deported from the Netherlands along with their entire family!"
Later, he submitted parliamentary questions to Dutch Prime Minister Dick Schoof, calling to "get that filthy individual out."
Prime Minister Schoof is required to respond to the questions in writing within 48 hours. The answers will be published officially and become part of the parliamentary protocol. Through these questions, Wilders demanded that the government address the incident publicly, check if the security system identified the person, and examine whether wearing the shirt constitutes an offense.
Among other things, he asked the Prime Minister:
"Do you agree with me that open support for the greatest murder of Jews since the Holocaust, or the glorification of involved Islamic terrorist groups is disgusting, scandalous and unacceptable in the Netherlands? Do you agree that there is no place in the Netherlands for a criminal who shamelessly tramples on Dutch values, celebrates Islamic terror and turns unequivocally against society — and that upon his conviction he should be deported immediately from the country?"
The Dutch organization CIDI, which monitors antisemitism, presented the photo as proof that Hamas supporters in the Netherlands "no longer bother to hide their pride in the October 7 massacre." Reactions on social media were swift; while some pro-Palestinian activists attempted to justify the shirt, others condemned it sharply, describing the incident as a sign of profound moral decay.
