Ring stuck on woman's finger: Yedidim volunteer comes to the rescue
The call was received in the afternoon at the Yedidim dispatch center, following a blow the woman sustained from a dresser in her home on HaGiborim Street in Netivot. Using specialized equipment, the volunteer managed to free the finger from the ring.
A ring that became stuck on the finger of a Netivot resident was removed last Friday by a volunteer from the Yedidim organization, after her attempts to remove it herself were unsuccessful.
The call was received in the afternoon at the organization's dispatch center, following a blow the woman sustained from a dresser in her home on HaGiborim Street. As a result of the impact, the ring bent and pressed against her finger.
Naftali Bennett, the Yedidim dispatcher who answered the call, summoned regional volunteer Micha Pari to the scene. Using specialized equipment, he managed to free the finger safely and without injury to the woman.
"The call came in while I was running final errands before Shabbat, just a few blocks away," said Pari. "The lady said she had tried to remove the ring in various ways, but without success, until a friend recommended she contact Yedidim. I freed the finger easily, and she thanked us, saying that we are doing holy work."
