Contacts have been taking place recently between senior Likud officials and Knesset member Yaron Levi, as learned today, Sunday, by Walla. As part of the talks, meetings were held between the parties, during which the possibility of integrating Levi into the Likud list for the Knesset via a reserved spot was raised.

Levi, who entered the Knesset as part of Yesh Atid, has been considered for years one of the faction members most identified with party chairman Yair Lapid. In recent months, he has intensified his criticism of the party leadership and the moves ahead of the elections. Among other things, he attacked the joint campaign with Naftali Bennett and claimed that the connection does not expand the opposition bloc and does not create the conditions for replacing the government.

No response was received from the Likud party or Yaron Levi.

Levi's name also made headlines around the State Comptroller elections, after criticism was voiced against him in the opposition following the secret ballot. Levi refused to reveal how he voted and rejected the claims against him, but the affair deepened the tension between him and figures in Yesh Atid.

The contacts with Likud are also taking place against the backdrop of talks being conducted by his fellow Yesh Atid faction member, MK Yoav Segalovitz, with Ra'am chairman Mansour Abbas, in an attempt to examine the possibility of a Jewish-Arab alliance ahead of the elections.
