A Nukhba terrorist from the Hamas organization, who participated in the raids on Gaza envelope communities during the October 7 massacre, was arrested on Thursday in the Gaza Strip while working as a truck driver. He was apprehended in the Rafah area while en route to the Kerem Shalom crossing and transferred to security forces for interrogation.

Security officials explained that the driver had been hired by a private merchant to transport aid intended for the private sector. Upon receiving intelligence, security forces located and intercepted him on the Gazan side of the border before he could collect the aid shipment.

There is growing criticism within the security establishment regarding the volume of aid entering the Gaza Strip and the way Hamas exploits this mechanism. Sources indicate that significantly more food is currently entering the Strip than is required.

According to these sources, Hamas collects taxes from local merchants at rates of up to 30%, using the funds to bolster its military and governing capabilities. Officials further assert that the organization exploits private sector activity and aid mechanisms to restore its civil control over the Strip.
