7.1 Magnitude Earthquake Hits Japan, Tsunami Warning Issued
A 7.1 magnitude earthquake struck the Kyushu region in southern Japan, prompting a tsunami warning. The US Tsunami Warning Center confirmed there is no tsunami threat to Hawaii or American Samoa.
An earthquake with a magnitude of 7.1 struck today, Tuesday, in the Kyushu region of southern Japan, the Japan Meteorological Agency reported. In addition, a tsunami warning has been issued for the area.
Furthermore, the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center (PTWC) announced that there is no tsunami threat to Hawaii or American Samoa following the earthquake in Japan.
About a month ago, powerful earthquakes struck Venezuela. Since the two main seismic events, at least 30 aftershocks have been recorded. The tremors occurred near the northern coast of Venezuela, causing buildings to collapse in the capital, Caracas, and resulting in damage across other regions. According to official reports, the death toll has approached 2,300 people.
