Indian ship sinks off the coast of Yemen following attack

An Indian cargo ship sank on Tuesday after being struck by an attacking vessel off the coast of Yemen, according to Reuters and Indian media reports. The vessel, "Faizi Nuri Aulia," was hit approximately 13 nautical miles south of the city of Al-Hodeidah, which is under Houthi control.
The impact caused severe damage, leading to the ship's sinking. The Yemeni Coast Guard and Navy rescued all 14 crew members, who are now safe. Reports from India indicate that the vessel was struck by an explosive-laden boat.
India's Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, Sarbananda Sonowal, wrote on his X account:
"The Indian ship Faize Noore Oliya was hit by a projectile near Yemeni waters, causing it to capsize and sink. India strongly condemns this unprovoked attack on the defenseless vessel. The safety of our citizens is our top priority, and I am pleased to update that all 14 crew members (including 13 Indians) have been safely rescued by the Yemeni Coast Guard and brought to the port of Mocha. I have directed the Director General of Shipping to take immediate steps, in coordination with all relevant authorities, to ensure the full safety of Indian seafarers in the region and to provide all necessary assistance to the rescued crew members."
