A hint from Lapid? MKs from Yesh Atid were "forgotten" in the campaign - the post was deleted
Polls predicting only about 15 mandates for the Bennett-Lapid list are causing tension in Yesh Atid, where most of the incumbent MKs are expected to be left out. A post on the party's youth Instagram page, which was later deleted, hinted at which MKs might get realistic spots and which senior members were pushed out.
A hint at the Bennett-Lapid team that will be placed in realistic spots? An Instagram page on behalf of Yesh Atid published today (Tuesday) the "Class of 5787," the 14 realistic spots in the "Beyahad" party — and left out senior MKs from Yesh Atid. About an hour after it was uploaded, the post was deleted.
Just two weeks before the closing of the lists for the Knesset elections, the "Beyahad" party led by Naftali Bennett is sending a message regarding which MKs will be placed in a realistic spot and which less so. This comes against the backdrop of polls predicting around 15 mandates for the Bennett-Lapid party, which means that out of the 24 incumbent MKs of Yesh Atid, only about a quarter are expected to remain, alongside Bennett's new placements.
So how did the party convey the message to the MKs? The Instagram page "YA," operated by youth on behalf of the party, uploaded a post centered on things written in yearbooks about the party's candidates. But more than the content — what was interesting was to see who is on the list and who is not — especially from the Yesh Atid faction. For example, the post featured MKs Merav Cohen, Merav Ben-Ari, Meir Cohen, Naor Shiri, alongside Noam Tibon who joined Yesh Atid, and Yair Lapid himself of course.
And who is not on the list? Senior MKs like Mickey Levy, Karine Elharrar, Vladimir Beliak, Ram Ben-Barak, Moshe Kinley Tur-Paz, and Yorai Lahav-Hertzanu were pushed down — and it is unclear whether they will be placed in a realistic spot. Either way, in the coming days, Bennett and Lapid are expected to summon the candidates for meetings, where they will officially hear their final position on the list. In Yesh Atid, as mentioned, at least 16 MKs will lose their realistic position on the list.
