The crypto and business sector in Israel is in an uproar following a dramatic extortion case: a well-known and respected businessman in the crypto field was forced to sever his ties in Israel and flee secretly to Thailand after being targeted as a cash source by senior underworld figures.

The incident began when criminal elements set their sights on the entrepreneur's significant profits, demanding a "tax" and protection money amounting to 25 million shekels, alongside a demand for a percentage and full partnership in his businesses. Once he refused to submit to these dictates, direct and explicit threats to his life began to arrive.

As reported on Monday by "Mako", after realizing he was in immediate danger, the businessman used a Portuguese passport in his possession to leave the country. However, the flight did not end the ordeal: as soon as the criminals discovered that their target had disappeared from Israel, they began activating their network and agents on the ground to locate his tracks on Thai soil as well.

To protect his life in his refuge country, the entrepreneur has hired a local security detail that accompanies him 24 hours a day. Sources familiar with the details note that while he is an exceptional mind who generates great wealth, he now finds himself managing his daily routine under tight security for fear of the long arm of the criminal organization.
