Textile giant goes bankrupt after 61 years: massive debts, rescue attempt failed
The company "BBX Baby Kids Textile", which operated two massive factories and exported to 24 countries around the world, is finally collapsing. A court in Turkey ordered the liquidation of the company after a stay of proceedings period failed to save it from a debt crisis.
The textile industry in Turkey is suffering a heavy blow: the veteran textile company "BBX Baby Kids Textile", which has operated from the key city of Bursa since 1965, has been officially declared bankrupt.
The Commercial Court in Bursa ruled for the liquidation of the 61-year-old company after it failed in its attempts to escape an extremely severe liquidity crisis.
The company, which specializes in the production of clothing for babies and children through two manufacturing plants and exported its products to 24 countries around the world, suffered from a severe deterioration in its financial situation.
Following the crisis, the court granted it a temporary extension of three months as part of a stay of proceedings process (concordat), with the aim of allowing it to reach a debt settlement and rehabilitate its economic structure.
Despite the time period granted, comprehensive checks carried out by the trustees appointed by the court revealed that the company's economic situation did not improve at all, and it remained in a state of insolvency.
In a decisive hearing held on August 19, 2026, the Commercial Court in Bursa examined the full picture and determined that the company is unable to meet the terms of the settlement. The judges officially ordered bankruptcy and launched the liquidation process of the veteran textile powerhouse.
