"A Strong Brake": Orit Strock Demands to Halt Progress on the Gaza Roadmap

Minister of Settlements Orit Strock (Religious Zionism), a member of the Security Cabinet, addressed in a conversation with Gadi Ness on Radio Tzafon 104.5FM the security establishment's examination of the possibility of withdrawing from certain focal points in the Gaza Strip, the continuation of efforts to dismantle Hamas, and the role of the multinational force. According to her, there is a fundamental gap between the 20-point plan of President Donald Trump and the "roadmap" currently being discussed.

Strock stated that the central problem at the current stage is the "roadmap," which she claims does not realize the principle of full demilitarization of the Gaza Strip.

"Our central problem at this stage in Gaza is the document known as the roadmap, which was published and is very disturbing and worrying. It tramples on the central and main clause of President Trump's 20-point plan, which was also approved by the UN Security Council," she said.

According to her, Clause 1 states that the Gaza Strip must be completely demilitarized of weapons, and Hamas must be completely dismantled of any means of warfare. She added that the roadmap hollows out this principle: "What this roadmap does is tear to pieces, trample, and shred the issue of demilitarization completely. That is, there is no demilitarization in Gaza according to the Peace Council's roadmap."

Strock claimed that instead of destroying weapons, the outline allows for their transfer to another body within Gaza. "They are planning that instead of the weapons being destroyed or removed from the Gaza Strip, they will pass from hand to hand and remain in the Strip. From the hand of Muhammad A to the hand of Muhammad B, so that whoever receives them will be a new authority that will arise there."

Later, she attacked the legal framework of the future body: "The law of this new authority in Gaza will be identical to the law of the Palestinian Authority in Ramallah. This means that me, you, the residents of Be'eri, Kerem Shalom, and Sderot will be allowed to be murdered, and there will even be a financial reward. This is a legal system the likes of which has not existed since the Nuremberg Laws." According to her, Israel must apply a very strong brake until the roadmap is fundamentally corrected.

"Who wrote such a roadmap?"

Strock claimed that the current outline contradicts Trump's own plan. "President Trump himself should say no to this roadmap, because it distorts his entire plan," she said.

She also addressed how Hamas views the political developments: "It has already been published in all the media that the head of the Shin Bet warned the cabinet that according to the intelligence information in their hands, Hamas relates to the roadmap like a political October 7th. That is, it says: 'We need to drag our feet until the elections, so that Israel does not eliminate us'."

Strock emphasized that the achievements of the war require avoiding a withdrawal now that will harm defined goals: "Our government knew, under the most difficult conditions when there are hostages in Gaza and the US imposes an embargo, and we managed to eliminate a huge part of Hamas's power in Gaza and push it into a corner, to return hostages, and we are in a situation where the IDF holds most of the Strip."

In conclusion, she called on right-wing voters to show national responsibility: "Whoever wants things to continue, should be responsible and vote for the right-wing parties."
