3-Year-Old Toddler Killed in Hit-and-Run in Wadi Ara, Father Arrested
A three-year-old toddler has died after being struck by a vehicle in Ar'ara. Police are investigating the incident as a hit-and-run, noting that relatives initially claimed the child had fallen in an attempt to obstruct the investigation.
A three-year-old toddler was critically injured this evening (Wednesday) in an incident in Ar'ara (Wadi Ara) and was later pronounced dead at Hillel Yaffe Medical Center in Hadera. Police suspect the child was struck by a vehicle, and a police source added that relatives initially claimed the child had fallen, raising suspicions of an attempt to obstruct the investigation at the scene. The child's father has been arrested, and an investigation is underway.
"An initial check raises the suspicion that this is a hit-and-run incident," the police stated.
Officers from the Iron station, led by station commander Superintendent Tzachi Ben Haim, arrived at the scene to conduct a situational assessment. Forensic investigators and traffic examiners from the Menashe district are currently on-site collecting evidence and examining the circumstances of the incident.
This incident follows a series of fatal road accidents over the past 24 hours. Yesterday in the Negev, Taha Abu Quider, a doctor in his 30s, was killed in a collision between a private vehicle and a truck on Highway 80 near the Tel Arad junction. Two other men, aged 35 and 45, were injured in the same crash.
Earlier yesterday, two women were killed in a severe accident in Ashkelon involving three buses. Medical teams pronounced a 60-year-old woman dead at the scene, while a second woman succumbed to her injuries at Barzilai Medical Center. A third woman remains hospitalized in moderate condition.
