Portland continues to shape its roster for the 2026/27 season, and this Saturday evening added another reinforcement for Deni Avdija. Forward Jeremy Sochan has agreed to a one-season contract with the Trail Blazers, as reported by Shams Charania of ESPN.

23-year-old Sochan arrives after finishing last season with New York, with whom he won the championship. During the season, he moved from San Antonio to the Knicks, and in the playoffs, he contributed an average of 2.5 points in eight appearances on the way to the title.

Heading into his fifth season in the league, Sochan holds career averages of 9.9 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game. He is expected to add depth and versatility to the forward positions, with an emphasis on defense, though he is not intended to start in Micah Nori's lineup.

The addition follows the changes the Blazers made over the summer, most notably the trade that brought Ja Morant, in which they parted ways with Jerami Grant and Kris Murray. Now Deni Avdija gets a new partner for the frontcourt as Portland continues to build its roster ahead of the season opener.
