Former NBA player sells belongings online: 14 pairs of game-worn socks for $116

Mike Muscala, who previously played for teams such as the Oklahoma City Thunder, Atlanta Hawks, and Philadelphia 76ers, decided to declutter his home following a planned move. However, instead of donating his old belongings or storing them, the former center chose to put them up for an online auction.
Among the various items Muscala put up for sale, one can find a completely random mix of personal belongings and furniture: ranging from a saxophone, a coat rack, and pairs of pants, to pairs of used shoes.
But what particularly surprised fans and followers was the decision to sell a bundle of 14 pairs of worn-out socks that he wore during his official games in the best league in the world, offered for sale at a price of $116.
35-year-old Muscala officially retired from basketball at the end of the 2023/24 season, following a rich and steady 11-year career in the NBA. Throughout his playing career, he recorded modest but consistent averages of 5.9 points and 3.1 rebounds per game, and earned a staggering total of approximately $28.26 million from contracts and salaries alone.
