Former senior Mossad official warns of dangerous pattern: "The redhead is dictating the moves here"
Oded Eilam, a former senior Mossad official, warned against taking the gloves off in Lebanon, but demanded to strike without restrictions any organization in the south of the country. Later, he attacked Donald Trump and his policy: "His corporations went bankrupt six times."
Oded Eilam, former head of the counter-terrorism division at the Mossad, spoke with Amichai Attali and Barak Seri on 103fm about the escalation in Lebanon and the tension in the Persian Gulf in light of the threats by US President Donald Trump and Tehran's declaration that the agreement with Oman is close to being signed.
Initially, Eilam addressed the escalation in Lebanon, during which two IDF soldiers were killed by an explosive device, Major (res.) Harel Birnstock (of blessed memory) and Sergeant Major (res.) Tamir Yakunin (of blessed memory).
"Contain? Certainly not. And end it, certainly not. We cannot end it unilaterally. There is the big brother, the redhead, who is pretty much dictating the moves here. We need to maneuver between two options, each of which is not good. First, we need to continue or even intensify it without declaring that the ceasefire is over."
According to him, eliminating senior officials and striking Dahiyeh signify breaking the rules, which he recommended to be careful about. "Let's not forget that we are also in talks with the Lebanese. Yesterday they ended unexpectedly, but the talks have importance, not in the aspect that the Lebanese army will take over the area tomorrow and establish the Principality of Liechtenstein. That will not happen. But there is significance in the fact that over time we are giving significant legitimacy, not only us, but the world, to the fact that there is one sovereign, and that is the Lebanese."
"I would not recommend Israel at this stage to take off the gloves and say that we are breaking the rules."
He further added: "I would recommend striking with force everywhere in southern Lebanon where we identify some kind of organization, without any reservations and without any restrictions. Those points that are supposedly in a pilot, we need to check how we operate there. I would not recommend Israel at this stage to take off the gloves and say that we are breaking the rules and returning to fighting until the total destruction of Hezbollah."
Later, Eilam mentioned the financial adventures of the American president, which knew ups and downs. "An excellent question. I want to remind you who Trump is. From 1991 to 2009 as a businessman, his corporations went bankrupt six times. And from all of them he somehow escaped by the skin of his teeth, because he separated himself from the corporations, and the price was that he gave up control. This is a pattern that characterizes this man."
"And now we are seeing his seventh bankruptcy, and of the corporation called America," he claimed. "Trump will separate himself, and will announce that it is a brilliant victory. In February 2020, Trump signed a brilliant peace agreement with the Taliban, if you remember, the Taliban in which they become vegetarians, send their women to an anthroposophical school, and their women receive status, of course. Remind you how it ended? The Afghans clinging to the planes of the Americans fleeing Afghanistan. That is the man."
