The couple confirmed the news in a joint Instagram post, showing their hands adorned with wedding rings. Ronaldo's management also confirmed that the two were married.
The date closed a perfect circle. On August 11, 2025, Rodriguez uploaded a photo of her engagement ring to Instagram and wrote: "Sí, quiero. En esta y en todas mis vidas" ("Yes, I do. In this life and in all my lives"). A year later, the wedding rings arrived.
Fans waited in Madeira, the couple was in Cascais
In the weeks leading up to the wedding, there was much speculation about the location of the ceremony. Madeira, the island where Ronaldo was born, was one of the destinations marked, and Sintra was also mentioned in reports. According to sources, fans even arrived at the cathedral in Funchal in anticipation of seeing Ronaldo and Rodriguez there, but the wedding itself took place in Cascais.
From meeting in Madrid to a shared family
Ronaldo and Rodriguez met in 2016, when she was working at a Gucci store in Madrid. Ronaldo has said in the past that he did not expect, at the beginning of their relationship, to fall in love with her or that their bond would become so strong.
The two are raising five children together: Cristiano Jr., twins Eva Maria and Mateo, Alana Martina, and Bella Esmeralda.
In April 2022, they announced that Angel, Bella's twin brother, passed away during childbirth. In a joint statement they published at the time, they wrote:
"It is with our deepest sadness we have to announce that our baby boy has passed away. It is the greatest pain that any parents can feel."
