Lance Stroll Suffers Third Consecutive F1 Retirement in Madrid
Formula 1 driver Lance Stroll suffered his third consecutive retirement in Madrid due to a brake failure. Starting from the back of the grid, his race ended on lap 15.
The current Formula 1 season continues to be particularly difficult for Lance Stroll, the Aston Martin driver and partner of Israeli model Yael Shelbia.
Over the past weekend, during the historic inaugural race of the circuit on the track in Spain's capital, Madrid, the Jewish-Canadian driver suffered another blow when he was forced to abandon the race at an early stage due to a technical failure.
Stroll's starting point was challenging from the outset. He started from the 22nd and last position on the grid, a penalty he received following a series of engine component replacements in his car. Despite attempting to advance, his race came to an early end on just the 15th lap out of 57 scheduled laps.
Upon reaching turn number 20, the vehicle came to a halt. Stroll quickly jumped on the team radio and precisely declared the source of the failure: "I have a brake problem, I lost the brakes."
The complete stop of the Aston Martin vehicle necessitated the deployment of the safety car. This forced the rest of the competitors to slow down, and some quickly took advantage of the opportunity window to make pit stops and change tires while Stroll's car was cleared.
For Stroll, this marks a third consecutive retirement that deepens the frustration of the current season. He had to digest the disappointment in Madrid this time without the close support of Shelbia, who had flown back to Israel ahead of time to celebrate Rosh Hashanah with her family.
