Throughout the war, Abu al-Rish actively participated in combat against IDF forces and was involved in executing terror plots. Recently, he promoted further terror activities, participated in training Nukhba terrorists, and attempted to rehabilitate the capabilities of the Islamic Jihad terrorist organization.
In a separate strike in the northern Gaza Strip, IDF forces eliminated Abd al-Nasser al-Aziz Maqadma, a commander in the Hamas police and a deputy platoon commander in the organization's military wing. Maqadma had recently been promoting terror plots against IDF forces and Israeli citizens. Both terrorists posed a threat to the forces and were eliminated in precise aerial strikes.
