IDF launches summer of appreciation for reservists

After three years of fighting, repeated service cycles, and hundreds of reserve duty days, the IDF, led by the Reserve Department of the Manpower Directorate, is holding over 70 appreciation events during the summer vacation for combat reservists and their families.

The events are taking place across the country and include music performances, plays, museums, water parks, activities for the whole family, and events adapted for the religious public. The goal is to allow reservists and their family members to have shared time for respite, recreation, and appreciation.

Next week, several central events will take place: on Sunday, an event will be held at the "Splash" water park in Ma'ale Adumim, alongside three performances of "The Jungle Book" at the Smolarsh Auditorium in Tel Aviv. On Monday, the play will arrive in Kfar Blum for a unique event for families from the confrontation line. On Thursday, an event will take place at the World Story exhibition at Expo Tel Aviv, which will include military-themed content, with performances by a military band and a military mentalist.

The peak event will take place on Saturday night, August 29, at the MAX amphitheater in Rishon LeZion, with the participation of thousands of reservists and their families, featuring a performance by Peer Tasi.

Chief Reserve Officer, Brigadier General Beni Ben-Ari said:

"After three years in which reservists have reported for duty time and again, it is important for us to stop and say thank you to them and their families. Reserve families are an inseparable part of the system and the ability of the soldiers to report for duty again and again. These events are an opportunity to give them quality time, a respite, and above all, appreciation for their commitment and dedication to the country and the IDF."
