US President Donald Trump announced last night an economic operation against Iran. He wrote that 'no one gave the Islamic Republic a greater chance for a deal than I did,' and described the upcoming measures as 'the most crushing ever taken against any country.'
Trump made the announcement via his Truth Social network:
'No one gave the Islamic Republic a greater chance to reach a deal than I did. Tragically for them, they did not take it. Therefore, today, I am announcing the most crushing economic operation ever taken against any country!'
Trump did not specify the details of the 'economic operation,' but claimed that it would constitute 'economic warfare and isolation on an unprecedented scale.' He asserted that the Iranian navy is gone, the air force is destroyed, military factories are in ruins, the currency is worthless, and the country is hanging by a thread.
He warned that any country allowing economic relations with Iran—whether through financial or governmental institutions, businesses, or airports—will face economic consequences.
'This will be an economic D-Day, and we need all our allies to isolate and defeat the Iranian threat. These madmen are on the verge of defeat, and these historic steps will paralyze them and their ability to spread terror around the world. Iran will never have a nuclear weapon,' he wrote.
