Disturbances at Tel HaShomer recruitment center: Military police vehicle blocked by Haredim
Haredi protesters, who arrived at the recruitment center in Tel HaShomer to demonstrate against the Haredi recruitment taking place today, blocked a military police vehicle. The protesters sat on the road, preventing the vehicle and the soldiers inside from continuing their journey.
A military police vehicle was blocked today, Sunday, by dozens of protesters who obstructed its path near the recruitment center in Tel HaShomer. Large police forces summoned to the scene extracted the military police personnel from the area.
According to the footage, the Haredi protesters, who arrived to demonstrate against the recruitment of Haredim into the IDF, sat on the road and prevented the military police soldiers from continuing their activity.
The protesters gathered following the arrival of young Haredim at the gates of the Tel HaShomer recruitment center this morning. Dozens of young men reported for duty as part of a recruitment day for combat tracks in the IDF, including the Hashmonaim Brigade, Netzah Yehuda, and Magen HaNegev. Outside the complex, a noisy struggle took place between two camps: extremist protesters against the recruitment shouted "We will die and not be drafted," while supporters of the recruitment responded by singing "Am Yisrael Chai."
