Trump: 'If Russia and China provide weapons to Iran - it will be very bad for them'
US President Donald Trump warned Russia and China against supplying weapons to Iran. He stated that he had received assurances from Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping that they would refrain from such deals.
US President Donald Trump sent a message today, Friday, to the powers of Russia and China in a post on the social network Truth: 'If Russia and China provide weapons to Iran, it will be very bad for them - and will certainly serve their interests.'
Regarding Russia, the American president stated: 'Despite the terrible war taking place in Ukraine, the relationship between me and President Vladimir Putin continues, just as it continues with President Volodymyr Zelensky. Putin made it clear to me that he will not sell weapons to Iran, partly because he understands that I do not sell weapons to Ukraine.' Trump further added in the same context that he sells weapons to NATO countries because 'they pay full price. However, after that, I have no idea how this weaponry is distributed.'
Regarding China, the US President claimed: 'President Xi told me at our last meeting in Beijing that China would under no circumstances provide or sell weapons to the Islamic Republic of Iran - and this statement also included Chinese companies. Given the relationship between us, I believe his word, and in addition to that, I am also doing him very big favors.'
