Cancelled 'Chance' lottery draw: Mifal HaPayis admits error in ball loading
Mifal HaPayis has acknowledged that the 'Chance' lottery draw results were invalidated due to a human error in loading the balls into the machines. The organization also confirmed that there was no real-time oversight by the committee during the process.
An embarrassing and unusual technical malfunction occurred during the 'Chance' lottery draw held by Mifal HaPayis this past Friday. As reported by Channel 13, the results were invalidated after it was discovered that the balls were loaded into the lottery machines in the incorrect order, leading to the display of erroneous results.
Mifal HaPayis admitted that the loading sequence was flawed and confirmed that there was no real-time supervision by the oversight committee during the draw.
In an official response, Mifal HaPayis stated:
'The incident stemmed from a specific human error during the operation of the draw. Mifal HaPayis operates under strict standards of reliability and transparency, and therefore, upon discovering the error, we acted immediately to publish a clear and detailed clarification to the general public. In accordance with the lottery regulations, the determining result in the draw is the shape appearing on the ball that was drawn and the number appearing on it.'
To date, most winnings from this draw have already been redeemed. Mifal HaPayis is reviewing, on an individual basis, a small number of inquiries from customers who claim they won but do not possess their ticket, by cross-referencing them with actual point-of-sale purchase data and prize redemption records. The organization expressed regret over the incident, noting that it is conducting an in-depth investigation and taking all necessary measures to ensure such an error does not recur.
