"The Voice": Reshet 13 should send Keshet 12 a bouquet of flowers after this episode

For several days now, we have been receiving promos on television for "The Voice" that promise us a "comeback of a star of the past." In my social circle, we tried to throw out potential names that might be the "star" in question. I admit that during the audition, and even at its end, I did not think for a moment that Or Ben Baruch was the "star of the past" promised to us. This, of course, has nothing to do with Or's talent, because he is simply excellent and gave one of the most moving and memorable auditions. But to be a star of the past, you must first be a star. And with all due respect to Or's participation in the Keshet 12 program, "A Star is Born," it still does not make him an Israeli star of the past.

Now, of course, it is not a problem that he is not a star, I am just a bit tired of trailers that promise me things that simply do not meet reality. At least we will take comfort in the fact that Or's audition was truly wonderful. Although he chose a risky song, his performance managed to be very moving and did not feel melancholic at all. In addition, it was pleasant to hear that he managed to rehabilitate himself following the deterioration he experienced at the end of the "A Star is Born" experience. Or explained that he was very young in the previous round of reality TV, and when he left the competition, he was confused and fell into a pit of self-destruction. It is simply inspiring to realize that he not only got out of the abyss but managed to lift his head and write songs for the best artists in Israel.

At the end of the audition, all the judges turned around and were ready to fight for him to the last drop of blood. Or was very confused, but in the end, chose Static. I am very curious where this combination will take him. In my opinion, there was really no need to attach a title to him that does not describe him, because in the end, it just creates hype that could hurt Or himself. But it did not end only with Or. At Reshet 13, they should thank Keshet in this episode, who did the casting work for them in their past program, because Or was not the only contestant who came from a past format of the bitter enemy, Keshet.

Remember "Music School"? It turns out that the production of "The Voice" did not forget. The casting directors invited the past participant Avraham Dahan to the audition. Avraham has definitely matured since then and only improved. He went up on stage and gave a simply excellent audition! Avraham chose Idan Raichel's song "At Night," and his story about the injury in the army and the inspiring rehabilitation he went through connected together and turned it into an especially moving moment. At the end of the audition, Static and Raichel turned around. Immediately, Raichel recognized Avraham. He also hosted a special of "Music School," where he met him for the first time, and years later they sang together as part of a show for wounded soldiers.

This moment showed again how sensitive Raichel is when it comes to IDF soldiers. He is always moved to tears when he talks about this subject, and his conversation with Avraham was also on the verge of tears. At this moment, Static realized that he had no chance and told Avraham that he thinks his and Raichel's combination was meant to happen, and therefore recommends that he choose him. Avraham did not think twice and took Static's advice with both hands. It will be interesting to hear the combination of these two.

In Faith Rosario's audition, the production put an impossible weight on Noa Kirel. It all started with the audition itself. Faith gave a bomb performance in my opinion, her voice is great and she is very special. But for the judges, it was not enough, and none of them turned to her. Out of nowhere, Michael Aloni came running and tried to convince the judges to give Faith a chance. It is not clear if it was his decision or a request from the production. What is certain is that he did everything he could and really begged for her, and asked the judges to consider using the save button. The only one who had not yet pressed the button is Noa Kirel, and therefore all the weight fell on her, and this put her in the slot of a fate decider.

Noa asked Faith to give another musical performance, and so it was, but Noa was still not convinced and sent Faith on her way. But just a moment after she left the studio, Noa regretted it. She pressed the button and called her to return to the studio. To be honest, I did not really understand what happened there. But what is certain is that the production received an excellent dramatic moment that indeed served it as part of the promos for the episode.

The next audition demonstrated exactly the strangeness of the "The Voice" format. Gaia Naveh went up on stage, and already in the first second, the paradox was clear. On one hand, she has great talent that is expressed in an excellent voice, but on the other, she has stage fright and noticeable insecurity. When she sings, this gap is not heard at all, but for us, the viewers, who witnessed her performance, it was prominent. The dissonance was not evident only to me, the three mentors who turned to her felt exactly the same thing. Somewhere it felt as if it lowered Raichel's desire to work with her, and he elegantly recommended that she go to the team of Noa or Eden Ben Zaken, who in his opinion would help her more to develop confidence. Noa and Eden, each in her own way, promised to work with her on this, and Noa even took her to a "liberating" dance workshop on stage. But in the end, she decided to go with Eden.

Immediately after that, Michal Schnitzer went up on stage, a math lecturer and a stunning personality. Her audition was good, her voice is very beautiful and special, but you do feel her lack of professionalism. The judges also felt that way and did not turn to her, but within seconds everyone was captivated by her charm. There are people who are simply energy magnets, and Michal's positivity and good spirit are simply contagious. The judges were crazy about her and wished they had a math teacher like her. And I definitely identify with them, you can see that Michal is a teacher with all her heart and soul.

And last but not least, the "Klein Brothers," Shahaf and Guy. They went up to sing together, a duo making a comeback after breaking up during the coronavirus. The performance was precise, their voices blend excellently together, and their dynamic was charming. Although it was not enough for them to pass the audition, they have a special groove, and there is no reason for them to stop because of one refusal. And thus ended another audition episode.
