Thai Police Officer Surrenders After 18-Hour Kindergarten Standoff

A Thai police officer surrendered to authorities on Thursday morning after an 18-hour standoff at a kindergarten in Bangkok where he allegedly shot and killed his wife. Tachapong Tundat, an officer from the Bang Lamung station in Chonburi province, is suspected of murdering his wife on Wednesday evening inside the municipal kindergarten where she worked. All 44 children at the facility were unharmed and evacuated safely alongside the teaching staff, while classes were suspended under safety protocols. Authorities stated that Tundat fled to his home following the shooting, prompting a police encirclement that ended when he surrendered 18 hours later.
