Terrorist snatched a weapon from an Israeli in the southern Hebron Hills, fired into the air and fled; young man wounded in the head by a stone

The IDF received a report this evening, Saturday, about a terrorist who snatched a weapon from a 25-year-old Israeli man, a soldier on leave, in the Susiya area of the southern Hebron Hills. According to the report, the terrorist fired the weapon into the air before fleeing into a nearby village. Alert levels were raised in local communities, and IDF forces began a pursuit of the suspect.

During the incident, the young man was wounded in the head by a stone. A Magen David Adom (MDA) team evacuated him in moderate condition to Soroka Hospital in Beersheba.

The incident occurs at a peak of tension in Judea and Samaria following the terror attack in which Binyahu Melet and Major Yuval Ezra were killed. Earlier today, about 20 settlers entered the village of Tell near Nablus, near the site of yesterday's deadly incident, but were evacuated by IDF forces.

Yesterday, travelers from the 'David and Ahikam Travelers' group entered the area of Tell without coordinating with the IDF, leading to a deadly confrontation. Major Ezra, who led the force that arrived to separate the sides, was killed by gunfire. Melet, a member of the Gilad Farm rapid response team, was also shot and killed after arriving at the scene.

Overnight, four outposts were established in the area of Tell and near Nablus, with some located in Area B. Since the attack, the IDF has arrested more than 70 wanted persons throughout Judea and Samaria. In the village of Tell, 11 individuals were arrested and about 80 were questioned. Palestinians reported further detentions in nearby villages, including Jalud.

Following the deadly incident, dozens of masked individuals rioted in several Palestinian villages, setting fires and throwing stones. Further details to follow.
