Pure terror: She saw something moving in the closet — and then discovered who was hiding there

An unexpected encounter occurred recently in the bedroom of a resident of Blerick in the Netherlands, after she discovered a snake crawling among the clothes that were lying on the floor. According to the Limburg police, the woman called the officers after the snake continued on its way and entered the wardrobe. When the officers arrived at the scene, it turned out to be a reticulated python that is not venomous — and later the mystery of how the snake reached her home was also solved.

The woman noticed the python as it moved among the clothes in her bedroom. Within a short time, it found a hiding place inside the closet, and the police were called to the apartment to deal with the uninvited guest. The officers managed to find out the origin of the snake and discovered that it did not come from far away at all. The python was the pet of one of the woman's neighbors and had managed to escape from the terrarium where it was kept in his home.

After the identity of the owner was revealed, the neighbor was brought to the woman's apartment to remove the python from the closet himself. He collected the snake and returned it to his home, and thus the unusual incident ended without any injuries. The Limburg police stated following the incident:

"The owner will check how the python managed to escape and will ensure that this does not happen again."

The python found in the apartment is a reticulated python, a non-venomous species. In this case, despite the panic that can arise from discovering a snake inside a bedroom, it turned out to be a pet that had escaped from a nearby house.

The incident finally ended where it began — at the neighbor's. But for the woman who discovered the python crawling among her clothes, it is apparently an extraordinary reminder that sometimes even the wardrobe in the bedroom can hide a surprise that one does not expect to find in it.
