Attempted infiltration into Israel: two residents of Kafr Aqab arrested while breaching the separation barrier
Border Police officers operating in the seam zone identified two Palestinians attempting to create a passage into Israel using electric tools. Following a short pursuit inside Kafr Aqab, the two were arrested in a residential building and transferred for questioning, along with the seized digging equipment.
Border Police forces arrested two suspects on Saturday who were attempting to cut through the base of the separation barrier in northern Jerusalem. According to a police statement, officers operating in the seam zone near Kafr Aqab identified the two as they were attempting to breach the wall using electric digging tools to create a passage from Judea and Samaria into Israeli territory.
Border Police noted that upon identifying the suspects, forces entered the village and caught them in the act. The suspects attempted to flee the scene, but after a short pursuit, they were located and arrested inside a nearby residential building.
Authorities reported that the tools allegedly used by the suspects were seized at the scene, including a large drill and long electrical cables. Both suspects, residents of Kafr Aqab, were transferred for further investigation to the Investigations and Intelligence Division of the Border Police's Jerusalem Envelope unit.
