This coming Thursday, the new horror film "The Ice Cream Man," directed by Eli Roth—the mastermind behind hits like "Hostel" and "Thanksgiving"—will be released in Israeli cinemas. Even before its premiere, the film has sparked a stir after the Film Review Board imposed exceptional restrictions and issued an official directive to all cinemas across the country.
According to the Board's decision, the film is strictly classified for viewers aged 18 and older. Furthermore, there is an absolute prohibition on admitting minors under 18 into the theater, even if accompanied by parents or another adult. Cinemas and the distributor are required to place prominent warning signs at ticket offices and hall entrances, with lettering at least five centimeters high. Additionally, the age restriction must be clearly stated in all promotional materials.

The directive clarifies that any deviation from these instructions could lead to the revocation of the screening permit and the initiation of legal enforcement measures. A copy of the document has been forwarded to the Israel Police's supervision division, underscoring the authorities' serious stance on the matter.
