Israeli police arrested four suspects linked to a criminal extortion ring that used fake Telegram profiles posing as minors to lure men into violent ambushes, arson attacks, and extortion in Holon and Tel Aviv. The suspects appeared before the Tel Aviv Magistrate's Court, which extended their detention until November 4.

According to the police investigation, the criminal network orchestrated a series of arson attacks targeting buildings across the Tel Aviv district over the past several weeks. Incidents included an October 12 arson at an apartment building lobby in Holon, as well as targeted apartment fires along Ben Yehuda and Yarkon streets in central Tel Aviv. Investigators believe these attacks stemmed from a criminal underworld dispute targeting a 41-year-old Tel Aviv resident.

Undercover detectives and tactical units intercepted and arrested two suspects on October 12: a 43-year-old resident of Hadera and a man in his 20s from Rehovot. Further intelligence led authorities to a 24-year-old resident of Ashdod, suspected of orchestrating and directing the arsonists. A fourth suspect, a Tel Aviv man in his 30s, was apprehended following a breakthrough in the investigation.

Police stated that all four suspects face severe charges, including extortion with threats, violent extortion, and aggravated assault. Investigators revealed that the suspects lured victims via Telegram under the guise of intimate meetings with minors, subsequently ambushing, beating, and coercing the victims into paying hundreds of thousands of shekels under extreme duress. The investigation remains ongoing.
