A routine afternoon school pickup in Ashdod turned violent when a man in his 40s was pepper-sprayed and stabbed in the back by a minor after confronting him over a bicycle collision.
The incident, which occurred a month ago, began when the victim was struck on the street by a teenager riding a bicycle. According to the investigation, when the father pointed out the danger, a group of teenagers aged 14 to 17 initiated a violent confrontation. Surveillance footage from the scene shows one of the suspects spraying pepper spray at the man before another minor approaches from behind and plunges a knife into his back. Emergency medical teams arrived promptly at the scene to provide initial treatment to the wounded man, while the Israel Police launched an extensive investigation.
The swift police inquiry led to the identification, arrest, and subsequent filing of formal indictments against the teenage suspects involved in the attack. The victim's daughter expressed deep trauma and shaken trust following the violent episode, telling the press: "How can I leave the house without being afraid of being stabbed too?!"
Investigator Arik Master of the Ashdod police station addressed the severe nature of the crime, stating: "This is a grave incident involving minors. The Israel Police will not tolerate any manifestations of violence and will continue to act resolutely to bring all those involved to justice."
