Taylor Swift Named 'Fake Fan' by New York Knicks Guard Tyler Kolek
New York Knicks player Tyler Kolek named Taylor Swift as the team's fakest celebrity fan, sparking a quick defense from the club highlighting her long-term support.

Pop superstar Taylor Swift found herself at the center of an unexpected sports debate after New York Knicks guard Tyler Kolek named her as the team's "fake fan" during a recent appearance.
Kolek, entering his third season with the reigning NBA champions, did not hold back when asked which celebrity supporter was the least authentic. "Their fandom is performative; they just want to be seen, they aren't necessarily fans," Kolek remarked. "Who is the fakest? Maybe Taylor Swift? I don't know if I've ever seen her at any other game."
Recognizing the potential backlash from Swift's massive fanbase, known as Swifties, Kolek laughed it off alongside teammate Miles McBride, who agreed with the sentiment while highlighting other regular celebrity attendees like Ben Stiller and Tracy Morgan as genuine supporters.
The Knicks organization quickly stepped in to defend the Grammy-winning singer, releasing a statement that seemingly countered the players' remarks. "Taylor Swift has been a Knicks fan for many years and has a long history with Madison Square Garden. We are grateful for her support of the organization," a club spokesperson stated.
Swift was spotted courtside during Game 4 of last season's finals against San Antonio, as well as attending an away game in Cleveland alongside her partner, NFL star Travis Kelce. However, prior to last season, her last documented appearances at Knicks games dated back to 2014, fueling ongoing debates among fans regarding celebrity culture and soaring ticket prices at Madison Square Garden.
