Taxi Drivers Association Rejects Sole Responsibility for Ben Gurion Weekend Queues
The Taxi Drivers Association rejected expectations to exclusively serve Ben Gurion Airport weekend crowds, citing severe public transit shortages and government planning failures during Shabbat.

The Taxi Drivers Association criticized expectations for drivers to exclusively handle weekend passenger demand at Ben Gurion Airport following reports of long queues. Association Chairman Zohar Golan stated that taxi drivers cannot be the sole solution for public transportation and should not bear the responsibility for systemic transit failures. Weekend arrivals face a lack of trains and buses due to the Shabbat transit shutdown, overwhelming the limited available taxis.
Golan emphasized that the public deserves available transport, drivers are entitled to rest, and the state must provide solutions instead of placing systemic planning failures onto independent drivers. Previous state attempts to regulate airport transport through a tender won by Gett have also proven insufficient to meet high passenger volumes.
