A vehicle that aroused the suspicion of the forces was stopped for inspection at the Tarqumiya crossing, and inside were discovered five illegal aliens — three in the back seat and two in the trunk. The driver, a resident of Petah Tikva in his 30s, is suspected of transporting them while his driver's license was suspended. The six were arrested for questioning.

Five illegal aliens were located inside a vehicle that was stopped for inspection at the Tarqumiya crossing, two of them hiding in the trunk — this was reported today (Monday) by the police. The driver, a resident of Petah Tikva in his 30s, was also arrested after a check revealed that he is suspected of transporting them while his driver's license was under suspension.
The vehicle was stopped as part of enforcement activity at the crossing after it aroused the suspicion of the forces on site. During the inspection, the police officers located five illegal aliens who, according to the suspicion, were trying to enter Israel without the required permits.
Three of the illegal aliens were located in the back seat of the car, while two others were found in the trunk. The driver and the five illegal aliens were arrested and transferred for further questioning at the police station.
According to the police, during the last year, there has been an increase in the number of arrests of illegal aliens as well as the filing of indictments as part of the fight against the phenomenon, including against suspects for transporting and harboring.
Commander of the Kiryat Malachi station, Superintendent Lior Metzarfi, stated:
"The Israel Police operates continuously against offenses of employment and harboring of illegal aliens, while cooperating between all enforcement agencies. We will continue to act with determination to locate and prosecute those involved in these offenses."
