Veteran television presenter Avi Kachon, who hosts the weekly program "Almost Shabbat Shalom" on Keshet 12, is moving to the other side of the microphone and joining the public service with a new and particularly surprising job.

Kachon has been appointed to the position of spokesperson for the Harish municipality, as published in an internal email distributed to employees by acting mayor Yochai Faraji and municipal CEO Avihu Strauss. This is according to a report today, Monday, on TMI.

The municipal job that Avi Kachon has now secured comes during a period filled with changes in the personal life of the Keshet 12 presenter. Last June, his surprising relationship with Channel 14 news anchor Maggi Tabibi was revealed, following a year in which they maintained a connection away from the media spotlight. The two even launched their relationship publicly when they arrived together at the bat mitzvah celebration of singer Lior Narkis's daughter.

The new chapter in Avi Kachon's life comes following his divorce in 2025 from Dr. Reli Kachon, his wife of 22 years and the mother of his four children. In the past, Kachon shared openly about the heavy family price and the complexity that accompanied the dissolution of the home. No response was provided on behalf of Kachon.
