Shir Katznel, the voice of Chase in "PAW Patrol," shared that an additional screening event for the voice cast is likely to take place following her public complaint about being excluded from the film's premiere.
On Sunday, mako brought the story of Shir Katznel, the voice actress for Chase in "PAW Patrol," who was not invited to the premiere of the movie "PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie" that took place over the weekend. Following the article and the interview with her, an additional premiere is expected to be held for the voice acting team — this was updated by Katznel on Monday in a post she published on Facebook.
At the beginning of her remarks, Katznel thanked the audience for the warm responses she received following her first post, in which she said she was hurt by not being invited: "I am speechless in the face of the amounts of love you showered upon me in the last day. I received messages from parents for whom I recorded a greeting from Chase 10 years ago, from people who have no idea what the program is, but the case sounded outrageous to them, and also from my dear friends, the voice actors who are in the same boat with me."
Later in the post, Katznel referred to mako's inquiry: "I was very happy to tell the reporter my point of view on the event." According to her, both a representative from the studio where the film was dubbed and a representative from the distribution company contacted her: "I was very happy to receive this response. It showed me that the post I uploaded managed to reach the right people as I had hoped. It is also important to note that the discourse that these two parties conducted with me was very respectful. That makes me happy, because I know that each of them would have really preferred that I would not have opened the subject at all."
"So what are the results?" she wrote in conclusion. "I saw a post from another distribution company for another dubbed film today, in which they uploaded a picture of all the voice actors and thanked them for the good work they did. I want to believe that this is thanks to the media echo. In any case, it really moved me and I hope that it will be the standard to do such things in the future. The subject has surfaced and received a media platform — and there is value in this. I have not yet received official confirmation, but apparently a special screening is planned just for the voice actors. Although it is not the same thing as being invited to the premiere, at least they are trying to fix it. Chase is ready for action."
As recalled, the premiere took place over the weekend for the cartoon "PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie," based on the successful children's series that has been running for 13 years. However, those who remained outside the event were precisely the voice actors who have been giving the characters their voices over the years — including Katznel, who has been voicing Chase since the series began. In her post, she wrote: "I have no idea who organizes these premieres, but I want him to know that it really, really hurt me." In a conversation with mako, she told about the feelings following the decision and the reason she chose not to be silent.
