Residents and visitors in south Tel Aviv have reported a disturbing phenomenon in recent weeks: a woman, likely dealing with mental health issues and in her 40s or 50s, has been allegedly attacking passersby violently and without any prior provocation. Social media groups have accumulated multiple testimonies regarding similar incidents.

Violent Incidents at Local Venues

Sharon, who was sitting at a bar in the south of the city, recounted her experience: "I was sitting with a friend, and next to us sat two couples. A woman walked by, and as she passed their table, she forcefully pushed an ice bucket onto one of the girls. Everything shattered. I was in shock, I asked her 'Why like this?', and she simply answered 'Just because' and continued walking."

According to Sharon, checking with the venue revealed it was not an isolated event. Owners and patrons noted a recurring pattern of unprovoked aggression in the neighborhood.

Rock Thrown at Vehicles

Not far away, another severe incident occurred in early October in the heart of the Kerem HaTeimanim neighborhood. Noy, who was in a car with her partner, described a sudden attack: "We started a routine drive, and suddenly a blonde woman in her 40s or 50s passed the car. We heard a massive boom, looked back, and saw a rock had smashed the rear window."

The rock entered the car while we were inside. To our great luck, no one was sitting in the back seat. She looked at us and said 'they threw it from above', my partner told her 'you threw it' and then she started running away into the neighborhood.

Noy added that despite filing an official complaint with the Israel Police, the case was closed due to a lack of immediate progress.

Police Response

The Israel Police stated in response: "Following the complaint, an investigation was opened and investigative measures were carried out, including extensive attempts to locate footage. At this stage, the case has been closed, and should new information be received, it will be re-examined. The police ask the public to call the 100 hotline for any incident of suspected assault or identification of a suspicious person."
