Suspicion of abuse of a soldier at Rambam: "The healthcare system has proven itself"

Against the backdrop of accusations leveled against Rambam Hospital regarding improper treatment of an IDF soldier and the attitude of Arabic-speaking staff, Dr. Aziz Darawshe, former director of emergency medicine, came to the defense of the medical teams in an interview on the program "Sichat HaYom" (Conversation of the Day). In his remarks, Dr. Darawshe detailed the experience and dedication of the teams during emergencies and routine times:
"After 40–45 years of experience in the system, including moving between several hospitals, I think the healthcare system has proven itself again and again, even though it has gone through difficult times of war."

Referring to the issue of language use within medical treatment, based on the perception that language is an auxiliary tool intended to serve the patient, Dr. Darawshe clarified the importance of medical loyalty and professional ethics and added: "Even if the staff spoke Arabic, I believe they did their job properly with sympathy." Darawshe also called for continued joint work between the sectors: "The system has proven itself as a system with joint work of coexistence, I would recommend preserving this."
