Sofi from 'Married at First Sight' addresses rumors: 'They are suing me for sperm theft'
Sofi Daniel Benjamin and Dor Oz Cohen, who met on the Keshet 12 show, speak for the first time about their prolonged estrangement, the harsh online rumors, and the moving moment that brought them back together just before the birth.
Sofi Daniel Benjamin and Dor Oz Cohen, who met under the chuppah of 'Married at First Sight' and quickly became a family, are undoubtedly one of the most intriguing couples in the history of the Keshet 12 show. On Sunday, the two appeared as guests on 'Good Evening with Guy Pines' and opened up about the major crisis they experienced after the show, as well as the rumors and criticism they faced.
Dor admitted that the pregnancy caught him unprepared, leading to a significant crisis between them:
"I didn't know how to process it. We were after the show, expecting a child, and it created a crisis. I entered a state where I had to make a very difficult decision; it wasn't a breakup, but rather a realization that I was in the biggest crisis of my life and needed to take care of myself."
Sofi spoke about the difficulties: "You can't say it wasn't hard. Obviously, when you're pregnant, you want your partner close to you to experience everything together. It was a very difficult period."
Sofi addressed the rumors spread about her, noting that the most painful thing she heard was "that Dor's family is suing me for sperm theft." Dor also addressed the rumors that hurt him the most:
"The rumors about me were that I got her pregnant and ran away, but that's not true. We conceived our child out of love."
Dor shared that while he was in the reserves, he received an unexpected message from Sofi that changed everything:
"Suddenly the background noise cleared. I put my hand on her stomach and felt the baby kicking for the first time in my life; I melted. From that moment on, we both took responsibility. I know where I went wrong, I apologized, and I still regret to this day that I hurt Sofi."
Sofi described the reconciliation: "I don't know how much I dwelled on it; the closeness happened naturally. We talked and cleared the air so we could be in the best possible place and put it behind us. We are moving forward; there is something more important, which is our family. About a month before the birth, we said, 'Without even talking about it, it's obvious that we are together.'"
