Earthquake at Maccabi Tel Aviv: New Appointment at the Basketball Club
After nine years at the club, Roi Gladstone is stepping down. He will be replaced by a former editor of Walla and Israel Hayom, David Rosenthal, who will lead the yellow team's digital and communications system into a new era.

The Maccabi Tel Aviv basketball club is preparing for a significant shift in its communications and digital operations with the appointment of David Rosenthal as the new Deputy CEO of Communications and Digital. Rosenthal will replace Roi Gladstone, who is concluding his nine-year tenure at the club.
Rosenthal arrives at the position following many years in editorial and management roles at major Israeli media outlets. He recently served on the editorial board of "Israel Hayom," but announced his departure less than a year into the role. He now moves to a new arena, where he will be responsible for the communications and digital strategy of one of Israel's most prominent sports clubs.
Prior to his time at "Israel Hayom," Rosenthal spent 20 years at "Walla," where he held a series of senior editorial positions. Over the years, he served as the sports section editor and was later appointed as the site's editor-in-chief. His duties included content development as well as the operational and strategic management of the organization.
In July, Maccabi Tel Aviv announced that Gladstone would step down this summer. Upon joining the club, Gladstone established a new communications department and led it for a significant period.
The club thanked Gladstone for his service, noting that he performed his role "with pride, commitment, dedication, and professionalism." Gladstone himself parted ways with the club, stating:
"I wish to thank and wish great success to all the staff of the system, office, and team for an unforgettable, challenging, and fascinating period."
With Rosenthal stepping into the role, a transition period is underway. Gladstone is expected to assist Rosenthal during the handover to ensure an orderly transition and continuity in the work of the communications and digital department.
This appointment marks the beginning of a new chapter for Maccabi Tel Aviv, as Rosenthal brings years of experience in content, sports, and media management.
