Shlomo Karhi launches reporting platform for civil servants "against the deep state"

One can sense that the primaries are approaching. Minister of Communications Shlomo Karhi has created a reporting platform for civil servants, which he says is intended to allow them to report on what he defines as failures in the public system.

Through the "Governance Center," inquiries can be submitted anonymously. According to the website, Karhi's move is "intended to ensure that the policy of the government elected by the public is indeed implemented in practice." It is further noted that the center is "intended for public sector employees who encounter cases of delay, disruption, or intentional thwarting of government decisions from within the system itself."

According to the site's explanation, through a "discreet and secure inquiry," one can raise issues regarding "irrelevant barriers, expose intentional failures in implementation processes, and strengthen accountability and governance in the public service."

Karhi presents the initiative as part of the struggle against what he calls the "deep state," claiming that it is intended to assist in locating elements in the public system who, according to him, are acting to delay or thwart the implementation of government policy.

The move comes in the midst of the primary period in the Likud party, against the backdrop of internal elections to be held on August 17. During these days, an increase in the activity of ministers and Knesset members among the party's registered members is evident.
