Public pressure on the government has intensified significantly since the tragic roof collapse at the railway station in Novi Sad in November 2024, which killed 16 people. The protests sparked by the disaster have since evolved into a broader movement against corruption and government mismanagement, while Vucic and his allies have strongly rejected the accusations.
Vucic has remained Serbia's central political figure for over a decade, having previously served as both prime minister and president.
