Yoav Segalovitch, number two on the Ra'am list and former Deputy Minister of Public Security, visited Rahat on Sunday evening and addressed residents at a parlor meeting. His speech was abruptly interrupted by a burst of gunfire echoing nearby. Following the incident, Segalovitch stated that such lawlessness is unacceptable in a civilized state, emphasizing that systemic change will take time and hard work rather than empty promises.

Ra'am officially announced Segalovitch's inclusion in its electoral list on August 31. The party is not demanding the portfolio for National Security for him, but rather a dedicated national project manager position to combat crime and violence in the Arab sector.

Meanwhile, surging violent crime continues to plague the Arab community under National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir. In 2024, the death toll reached 282, rising to 295 in 2025. As of September 2026, the average stands at 0.81 murders per day, putting the year on track to match the grim milestone of approximately 300 fatalities.
