Yisrael Beytenu leader Avigdor Lieberman reacted today to the Flydubai flight incident, sharing his stance on social media platform X. Lieberman wrote that the entire nation followed the flight to Tel Aviv with tension and suspense, and felt immense pride once it landed safely.

Criticism of the Government

Alongside the relief, Lieberman sharply criticized the government, labeling the incident another failure of the current administration. He questioned how a pilot fired from two airlines due to radicalization and extremist social media posts could land in Israel unchecked.

"As someone who served as Minister of Transport and Minister of Defense, I state clearly: all airlines operating in Israel, security arrangements, and incoming and outgoing flights fall under the responsibility of the Shin Bet," Lieberman wrote.

Call for Responsibility

Lieberman argued that the Shin Bet chief must draw conclusions and resign, while adding that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu would likewise evade responsibility, maintaining a culture where failures have no owners.

  • Highlighted security gaps involving foreign airline pilots.

  • Demanded accountability from leadership.

  • Referenced recent polling data regarding leadership suitability.
