A Beersheba Magistrate's Court has ordered a six-day extension of the detention of an 18-year-old resident of Sderot, who is suspected of involvement in a series of serious offenses, including weapons trafficking, conspiracy to commit a crime, and planting an explosive device.

According to police representatives, the suspect is allegedly linked to a local criminal gang that planned a murder plot. During the court hearing, investigator Eyal Zaitoun noted that investigators have gathered digital and testimonial evidence implicating the young man in the criminal network, which reportedly includes six detained suspects.

Defense attorney Liron Cohen argued that her client cooperated fully with investigators, provided his phone data, and denied all allegations against him. She emphasized that although the suspect's name arose weeks ago, authorities did not immediately arrest him, which she claimed undermines the argument of immediate danger.

Judge Ido Porat reviewed the classified investigative materials and concluded that there is a reasonable suspicion the suspect committed the offenses. The court ruled that releasing the suspect at this stage could lead to obstruction of justice and witness tampering, ordering him held in custody for an additional six days as the broader investigation continues.
