Olympic champion showjumper Scott Brash and Sira Martinez, daughter of Paris Saint-Germain coach Luis Enrique, were involved in a fatal car crash in Spain on Thursday evening. A 20-year-old Spanish motorcyclist was killed at the scene, while Brash and Martinez escaped unhurt.

The accident occurred shortly before 8:00 PM on the N-322 highway in the Oliva region. According to the Civil Guard in Valencia, the motorcycle collided with the side of the car carrying Brash and Martinez. The motorcycle rider died on the spot, while the British driver and the Spanish passenger were uninjured.

Local media initially reported only that the driver was a "famous Scottish equestrian and Olympic champion," later identifying him as the 40-year-old Brash, who won team gold for Great Britain at the 2012 London Olympics and again in Paris 2024. Police are investigating the circumstances of the crash, and both alcohol and drug tests administered to Brash came back negative.

Martinez, 26, is a model, professional showjumper, and the daughter of Luis Enrique. For Enrique's family, this marks another distressing event following the profound tragedy they experienced in August 2019, when his young daughter Xana passed away at the age of nine after battling a rare form of bone cancer.
